Dates for your Diary:
Friday 20th December – Christmas Prayer Service at 11am – Children free for the holidays after the Service at approx. 12 noon
Monday 6th January – school re-opens
Thursday 20th & Friday 21st - February Mid-Term (school closed)
Wednesday 22nd April at 3:30pm - Confirmation (school open)
Saturday 2nd May at 10:30am - First Holy Communion
Christmas Prayer Service:
Our Christmas Prayer Service will be held on Friday 20th December at 11am at the school. All welcome to attend. The children from 3rd - 6th Classes will showcase their talents during the service. The children are free to begin their holidays after the Prayer Service at approx. 12 noon.
Christmas Carol Service:
Our Christmas Carol Service for the Junior Classes (Junior Infants to 2nd Class) will be held on Wednesday 18th December at 1pm at the school. We hope you will enjoy our performances and forget any worries for a little while! Our thanks to Seán Treacy for accompanying us on piano again this year.
Clothes Collection:
Thank you to those who supported our recent clothing collection. As always, your help is greatly appreciated. After a few false starts, the collection was taken last week and we are happy to report that we filled the collection van again this year! We will receive a cheque for €830 in the coming days. The money will go towards replenishing the yard toys and equipment in preparation for the spring.
Group 305, Irish Pilgrimage Trust:
Eoghan O'Grady, Group Leader of Group 305, called to the school last week to collect the proceeds of our Halloween Dress Up Day. Evan, our youngest pupil, and Emma, our eldest pupil on the day, presented Eoghan with the cheque for €300. Eoghan was very thankful for our contribution so thank you all once more!
Time to Read:
The Time to Read programme in 2nd class is well underway now. The children are thoroughly enjoying reading with their buddies. The children will visit the Fexco office in January. Thank you again to the fantastic volunteers from Fexco, as well as some of our own parents and grandparents who have volunteered to read with the children so no child was left out, who will continue to visit our school again after Christmas.
