School Closure Update - Friday 20th March

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe.

These really are unprecedented times and uncharted waters for us all, and so require quite a bit of adjusting to establish new norms and routines, while rearranging our lives around the primary focus of staying healthy and ensuring others around us stay healthy also.

Remote Learning:

It seems likely now that we will be out of school for longer that originally anticipated. We appreciate this is an uncertain time for everyone but all of us here at Glounaguillagh N.S. are committed to continue supporting pupil learning during this time. To help with this, and to support parents, all teachers have been working behind the scenes to prepare web-based resources for the children via Google Classroom and Seesaw, and will be for the foreseeable future. Anytime a new approach or methodology is being introduced, there's usually a few teething problems, but they will resolve themselves, or be resolved, relatively quickly. Class teachers will submit work on a weekly basis for all classes via the platforms named above, i.e. Google Classroom (1st - 6th Class) and Seesaw (Infants).

Contact:

All teachers are working remotely, as per guidelines, and as such are only contactable via the school email address should you require any assistance.

Enrolment Registration Forms:

Completed Enrolment Registration Forms can be posted to Glounaguillagh National School, Caragh Lake, Killorglin, Co. Kerry. We do not have a post box at school so forms cannot be hand-delivered to the school. If you post them back, we have a postal re-direction in place and forms will be delivered appropriately. Completed forms can also be emailed to the school email address also glounaguillaghns@gmail.com

Above all else, stay safe, look after yourselves and we all hope to see you all sooner rather than later!

Sinéad Pigott

Principal
