Non-Uniform Day:

A Non-Uniform Day will be held on Friday 12th April in support of the Irish Kidney Association. We are very happy to support Nikki Clifford and her husband Colm (of Killorglin Pantomime Fame!) in holding this day. Colm received a kidney transplant over 2 years ago and with his wife Nikki, they are trying to raise awareness of organ donation and to spread the message that organ donation works. We are asking each child to contribute €1 or €2 to the collection on the day.

Junk Art:

Thank you to the families who have supported our collection of recyclable materials. Great use is being made out of all the donations! Your support is very much appreciated.

Fun Run:

Our "Fun Run" is making a very welcome return this year. It will be held on Sunday 7th April here at the school. First race gets underway at 1:30pm. There will be a 1km run for the children as well as a 5km and 10km race. (Please note, no U-18's will be allowed to run in the 10km race). Any donations of baking (no sandwiches please) will be greatly appreciated on the day. Thanks to the Parents Association for their assistance in this fundraiser.

Policy Review:

The following policies were reviewed at the last Board of Management meeting, Child Safeguarding Statement and the Parental Complaints Procedure. I have attached same for your attention. Parent/Guardian "WhatsApp" groups have become increasingly popular in recent years. This can be great for birthday invitations, play dates, etc. However, we would like to remind parents/guardians that if they have a complaint/issue they must call the office to make an appointment with the appropriate class teacher and follow the Parental Complaints Policy. Emailing is not necessary

Sacraments:

Comhgairdeas do na páistí a chuaigh faoi lámh an Easpaig inné. Congratulations to our pupils who made their Confirmation yesterday. First Holy Communion for the children in 2nd Class will take place on Saturday 4th May at 10:30am. First Confessions will be held on Thursday 4th April at 1pm.

Football:

Our thanks to Eddie to continues to give of his time to train our footballers. The children in 6th Class have been invited by the Transition Year students in the ISK to a blitz in the Dragon's Den on Friday 29th March. The Mid Kerry Mini 7's will also be getting underway shortly - best of luck to all involved.

Kind Regards,

Sinéad Pigott

Principal
