Mollie is a gentle, friendly and well-trained dog who plays a very special role in supporting the wellbeing of our pupils. She is a valued member of our school community and brings joy to both children and staff every day.

💛 What Does Mollie Do?

Mollie helps to create a calm, positive, and supportive learning environment. Her presence in the school supports pupils in many ways:

• 🐶 Emotional support – Mollie helps children feel safe, relaxed, and happy

• 📖 Reading companion – pupils enjoy reading aloud to Mollie, helping build confidence

• 🤝 Social development – encourages communication, empathy, and kindness

• 🌿 Wellbeing support – helps reduce anxiety and promotes a sense of calm

Even a short visit with Mollie can brighten a child’s day!

Mollie is a shepadoodle, has a calm temperament and has been carefully selected and trained to work in a school environment.

 

She is:

• Friendly and gentle with children

• Comfortable in busy environments

• Fully supervised at all times

• Well cared for and regularly groomed

Mollie’s welfare is just as important as that of our pupils and she has designated rest times throughout the day.

🛡️ Safety & Hygiene

The safety of our pupils is our top priority. We have clear procedures in place to ensure that interactions with Mollie are safe and positive:

• Children are always supervised when interacting with Mollie

• Hand hygiene is encouraged before and after contact

• Pupils are taught how to approach and interact with dogs safely

• Parents are informed and can opt out if preferred
