June Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Another busy school year is now drawing to a close. We would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your continued support throughout this school year.

Summer Holidays:

The school will close for the summer holidays on Tuesday 27th June at 12 noon.

End-of-Year Service:

Our end-of-year service will take place on Monday 26th June at 11:30am. We are looking forward to marking the end of another school year and the end of the primary school journey for our 6th Class children.

Mrs. Doyle Head Shave:

Mrs. Fiona Doyle is shaving her head for charity on Monday afternoon. The event will take place at 1pm. All welcome to support Fiona.

Sixth Class:

Congratulations to our 6th Class pupils who are finishing their time with us here at Glounaguillagh. We wish you every good wish as you transfer to your respective secondary schools.

Please find attached the School Calendar for 2023/2024.

School Reports:

End-of-year report cards were distributed yesterday.

Class Groups 2023/2024:

Junior Infants - Ms. Quirke

Senior Infants – Ms. Pigott

1st & 2nd Class - Ms. Tyther

3rd Class – Ms. O'Sullivan

4th & 5th Class - Mrs. Fleming

5th & 6th Class - Mrs. Galvin

Staffing:

Mrs. Fiona Doyle will resume SET full-time for the 2023/2024 school year. Ms. Caitríona McCarthy will be returning to her own school in Castleisland. We thank Caitríona for her support and hard-work over the last number of years. We also thank Ms. Fiona Cooney and Ms. Ann O'Shea for their dedication to our school this school year. We are very grateful to have had you with us. We will have one maternity leave position beginning in September 2023. Interviews to fill this role will take place over the summer.

September Reopening:

We will re-open on Friday 1st September.

Finally, on behalf of us all here at Glounaguillagh National School, I wish parents, children and family members a well-deserved and enjoyable break.

We look forward to seeing you all on Friday 1st September.
