Dates for your Diary:
Thursday 21st March – Rock Your Socks Day
Friday 22nd March - School finished for the Easter holidays at 12 noon
Monday 25th - Friday 5th April (inclusive) - Easter Holidays (School Closed)
Rock Your Socks
We will be celebrating World Down Syndrome Day this coming Thursday, March 21st. To celebrate and raise awareness, we ask the children to wear mismatched or bright and colourful socks.
Easter Holidays:
The school will close for the Easter Holidays on Friday 22nd March at 12 noon. The school will reopen on Monday 8th April.
School Placement:
Ms. Róisín O'Hara is undertaking her school placement with us currently. Róisín has been with Ms. Tyther’s 1st and 2nd Class over the last number of weeks and will finish with them this week. Róisín will continue her placement in Junior Infants for a number of weeks after the easter break. We thank Róisín for her commitment and hard-work.
Football:
Our girls' mini 7s teams took part in the Mid Kerry Mini 7s competition held last week in Cromane Community Field. We played Scoil Mhuire and eventual winners, Castledrum N.S., in the group games. It wasn't our day, but the girls gave it their all in both games, performing admirably! Best of luck to the boys' mini 7s team who are taking part in their respective competition this Thursday.
Cross Country Running
Well done to the boys and girls who braved the elements and represented the school at the Cross Country running event in Caherslee at the end of February.
World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day, we dressed up as our favourite book character on Thursday 7th March. We raised a fantastic €365. Your generosity is very much appreciated. The money raised this year is being donated to the fundraising efforts of Alannah (Senior Infants) and the Foley family.
Time to Count:
Time to Count will be getting underway in 3rd Class after Easter. We are delighted that Business in the Community Ireland and Fexco have committed to undertake the programme again this year. Our launch day will take place on Wednesday 10th April at 10:30am, all invited to pop in.
