Return to School - Monday 15th March

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you and your families are keeping well.

As I have said previously, the last few months have been difficult for you. Despite the best efforts of everyone, both families and staff, remote learning has presented many challenges. We are delighted to be welcoming back the children in 3rd & 4th Class and 5th & 6th Class on Monday. The children benefit hugely from the structure and routines that school has to offer.

There are still quite high levels of community transmission nationally. Therefore, it is important to remain vigilant. We appeal to you to comply with the Covid protocols and infection control measures we have in place.

Please complete the Return-to-School Parental Declaration. https://www.glounaguillaghns.ie/covid19 It is available now and can be completed at any stage over the weekend. Please complete the Declaration by 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. Children cannot return to school without a completed Declaration.

The children will continue to use the gates and entrance doors used prior to Christmas. We ask parents to wear a face covering in the vicinity of the school and to please avoid congregating at the gates on collection.

We ask you to place books and school materials in your child's school bag today, Friday 12th March, and quarantine the bag over the weekend so as to help prevent the spread of disease upon returning to school.

Finally, is your child is unwell please keep them at home. This refers to all illnesses, not just possible Covid symptoms.

As always, you can contact the staff by phone on 066-9769402 or by email at glounaguillaghns@gmail.com. If your child will not be returning to school on Monday, please let us know.

We look forward to seeing the children back with us next week. Have a lovely weekend.

Stay safe, Sinéad Pigott

Principal
