The Parents Association are holding a Bag Packing fundraiser in PK's SuperValu this Sunday 23rd December, from 8:30am until 7pm. We are very aware that it is a busy weekend for everyone but we are asking all families to please try your best to give even one hour of your time and get involved. This is a great opportunity for the school to raise much needed funds to allow us to continue to grow and develop our school. Text Maureen (087-9224756) with your availability.
Christmas Concerts:
We held our Christmas Concerts last week at the school. We were delighted to see the fantastic turnout! We hope you all enjoyed the performances and forgot any worries for a little while. Thank you to all the fantastic children, as well as my colleagues, for the huge effort they put in to the shows. Thank you to Seán Treacy for accompanying us on piano again this year. Thank you too to the Parents Association for being on hand to help with the raffle today as always. A final thank you to the many people who sponsored prizes for our raffle. Your generosity is much appreciated.

A huge "Thank You" to the following businesses and parents who donated spot prizes for the raffle held during last week's Christmas Concert. We are so grateful for your continued support. Time to Read:
The Time to Read programme in 2nd class is well underway now. The children are thoroughly enjoying reading with their buddies. The children will visit the Fexco office in January. Thank you again to the fantastic volunteers from Fexco, as well as some of our own parents and grandparents who have volunteered to read with the children so no child was left out, who will continue to visit our school again after Christmas.
Grease Show:
The children from 3rd - 6th Classes went to the CYMS Killorglin during November to watch the Intermediate School's production of Grease. A great time was had by all.
Garda Visit:
Garda Siobhan and Garda Paula from Killorglin Garda Station visited us at the start of December as part of the Garda Schools Programme. They visited Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 4th, 5th and 6th Class before being called away. Siobhan and Paula spoke to the children about their Role, Uniform and Equipment, about Personal Safety, Road Safety, Cycle Safety and Respectful Online Communication. We look forward to welcoming Siobhan and Paula back for two more visits in the New Year.
Art:
Congratulations to Clodagh Hoare (2nd Class) who was successful in the recent Christmas in Killorglin Art Competition. Well done Clodagh!
Finally, I would like to thank you all for your support this term and to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
